FAQ

What is a 15-minute block?

The market runs in quarter-hour auctions. Your surplus for the next block is listed at your floor, buyers bid, and the highest bid wins.

Electricity markets have always cleared in short blocks. Ours is fifteen minutes, all day, every day.

Inside one block

  1. Measure. The gateway works out how much you will not use in the coming block.
  2. List. That amount goes on the board at your floor price.
  3. Bid. Buyers bid above the floor for about fourteen minutes.
  4. Settle. The highest bid wins and the sale is logged.

Ninety-six blocks a day means ninety-six chances to sell. You do not need to watch any of them. The gateway and the app handle it, and the week’s sales are added up for Friday.
